The Collisions are singer/songwriter/guitarist and one-time gravedigger Bo Barringer, bass player Dave of the Universe and drummer Johnny Finger. This is a hard hitting band that smacks with the glowering swagger of T. Rex, Wire, Sonic Youth, Joy Division, Television; the glam pop of Bowie; the intrigue of Jacques Brel; and the abandon of Robert Johnson. With its artful garage pop sound, The Collisions bring together all that glitters and is still hard rock.

The Collisions
"The nattily attired Collisions... a high-energy combo of glam and punk with yowling vocals and heavy guitar."
- Sarah Rodman
(The Boston Herald)

"The Collisions are an outstanding live act, running from the psychedelic new wave of Television to a raucous, Bo-Diddley-meets-Social-Distortion roar."
- Steve Morse
(The Boston Globe)

"quality songcraft on display, and a band that can meet the challenge. Bo (eschewing the red tighty-whities look of a past Jacques gig in favor of a dime-store urban cowboy ensemble) proves himself to be solid on guitar, tastefully mangling an SG with gonzo chording and Hendrix octaves. The material is at heart dumb-fun punk-pop, stuff to groove to and not think about too hard, but with obvious aspirations of grandeur. Think a bit of The Cure, a touch of Mission of Burma, maybe a smattering of The Jam... Bo and his charges rise up to deliver and the floor moves en masse."
- Brian Westbye
(The Noise)

Talk Is The New Action is The Collisions debut release with its gripping tale of naked angst told in thunderous seduction. L. Hurley produced the recording with The Collisions. It includes the singles: Amateur; Gasoline Can; Trying To Be Nice; The One That You Love; and Live By Fire Die By Fire; as well as a wildly possessed cover of Robert Johnson's "Me And The Devil Blues"

"Talk Is The New Action is a hard-hitting, punchy collection of rock/pop tunes reminiscent of The Pixies and early Rolling Stones. For a trio, these guys have a mighty big sound. Their tunes are driven by an incredibly masculine rhythm section and thick fuzzy guitars. The band's songs are smart and often unpredictable. Instead of churning out an album's worth of toons that all sound the same...The Collisions offer a great deal of variety in their music. Barringer's vocals are absorbing and effective. The lyrics are especially intelligent and inviting...offering much more food for thought than one normally gets from modern rock bands (!). These guys serve up their brand of rock the right way...serving up cool tunes like "The American Dream," "Gasoline Can," "Amateur," and "Your Gun." Nice heady stuff with a definite KICK. (Rating: 4+++)"
