Artists
Asa Brebner
Asa Brebner played integral roles for the Modern Lovers and Robin Lane and the Chartbusters. Brebner's "Best No Money Can Buy" is his finest work yet. Incorporating country, blues, pop, and carnival with witty irony, Brebner offers a gigantic slice of Americana.
The Collisions
The Collisions hit hard. Their rockin' sound is both glam and punk - gripping vocals, serious guitar. Their first single grabbed top local radio spin in a few short weeks.
The Coots
Harmonica god Jim Fitting's career began with Mark Sandman and Billy Conway (both later of Morphine) in Treat Her Right [RCA Records]. Fitting has played with such artists as the The and Bonnie Raitt. Fitting's current band, the Coots, nominated for a 2002 Boston Music Award, has broken new ground with their slick and slippery style of roots music.
Allen Devine
Devine is a featured guitarist on dozens of records and on the CBS Records and MTV hit, "The Girl With The Curious Hand", by singer Digney Fingus. Devine's solo debut "Mishap" is an all-music record. Devine plays every instrument - a miraculous piece of work.
Fritter
Frontwoman Elizabeth Steen brings the world of pop together without an ounce of pretension, just to prove its possible to defy the pressures of time. The intelligent songwriting will wrap around your ears and tell you something you want to know and take you somewhere you want to go, because daydreaming isn't for wusses.
Tim Gearan
As one of Boston's favorite blues musicians, Gearan's solo debut "Back Home" is a tour de force in the folk, blues, and country traditiion. His humor, his gritty tone combines with an acoustic sincerity that will connect with audiences for years.
Peter C. Johnson
Johnson's career includes recording with Bonnie Raitt and opening shows for The Velvet Underground. After a 20-year hiatus, Johnson returns with "Bloodshot", a stunning new album that has been lauded internationally. His new recording, to be released in 2003, features Raitt's vocals.
Paddy Keenan
Keenan's playing has stayed on top for thirty years. Known as the "Jimmi Henrix of the pipes" and compared to John Coltrane for his improvisation and counter-melody, Keenan has had an unprecedented impact on Irish traditional music since his days with the Bothy Band.
Jerry Leake
World-class percussionist Jerry Leake of Natraj and Club D'Elf cuts new ground - an admixture of ancient culture with modern technology. His solo album "bu'ahbl" is a composite percussion vignette of African, Indian, Middle Eastern, South American, Caribbean and Western rhythm.
Natraj

Lane started singing with Neil Young and recorded the hit "When Things Go Wrong" with the Chartbusters [Warner Bros.]. Compared to The Pretenders and Blondie, Lane's "Piece of Mind" marks the band's triumphant return. Remarkably fresh, charismatic, and edgy, this new album affirms Robin Lane and The Chartbusters as a timeless pop-rock band.
The Shelley Winters Project
Named after the actress known for her working class roles, The Shelley Winters Project is one of the most beloved bands to emerge from Boston. RickBerlin's first band, Orchestra Luna [Epic], played Zappa's 10th anniversary with Patti Smith. Berlin's scorching new band, Shelley, recalls the glam rock days of Bowie and Roxy Music.
Anita Suhanin
Former member of Boston-based Groovasaurus, Suhanin has played with many artists like Peter Mulvey. In her debut album "Redland", Suhanin sings of love and awkwardness. Mentioned as a more nimble k.d. lang, her album is soulful and exquisitely musical.
Brandan Sweeney
After a decade of leading two great local bands, Sweeney's solo debut "Stranger Than You" has attracted the industry's attention after it landed in Billboard's A&R Pick. Utilizing piano, cello and mellotron, his album is transporting - a vibrant, spell-casting work.
